Mastering is the last part of the production process; it is the final polish on the custom-tailored shoe. After the final mix, the song is then brought up to competitive listening levels to compete with todays or yesterday’s music and the loudness of the song is dependent on the artist’s vision. There is a tedious process to bringing up the level of the song by means of gain staging but there are also pros and cons to loudness. 

Once the song is up to desired level, a final EQ balance is placed to buff out the edges. Every song on a record must be at even levels so the consumer is not having to turn up or turn down the volume from song to song. This is also the process of properly fading the song into the next one to make the sequencing of an album as the artist hears it. At Studio 55, Analog Mastering is available to give your tracks the warmth that’s synonymous with analog tape. Digital Mastering is also available.
